Q.What happens if a Chapter 13 debtor can't make a required plan payment?

A.When a Chapter 13 debtor cannot make a required plan payment, s/he may under certain circumstances request the court to change the plan so the plan payments reflect the debtors ability to pay. If the debtor then completes the plan under the modified payment schedule, the debtor will receive a discharge.
