Q.How long does it take to incorporate?

A.The amount of time it takes to incorporate varies from state to state, but should in no event take more than one month. However, once your Articles of Incorporation have been filed, then an attorney should be able to prepare the Incoporator’s action, bylaws, first minutes, and the additional required filings for your state (e.g. Information Statement of Directors and Officers and Notice to the Commissioner in California), within one to two weeks. And yes, there is more to incorporating than just filing the Articles of Incorporation (although some legal service companies would like you to believe otherwise).
