Q.What should an effective job description include?

A.An effective job description should limit itself to the position and essential job functions.

  • Job title, name of department, name of supervisor, and date.

  • A short summary of the job’s basic purpose.

  • Employee's responsibilities.

  • Job Specifications (e.g., experience, education, complexity of duties and supervision).

If its not job related, don't mention it. A job advertisement should never mention gender, age, race, family, etc...
