Q.Is a volunteer entitled to the minimum wage? (CA)

A.Yes, if you are working for a for-profit company. Only non-profit employers (such as churches and community-based organizations) can have unpaid volunteers. A true volunteer is not an employee and does not have the right to minimum wage.
