Q.My employer’s vacation policy states that if I don’t use all of my vacation by the end of the year, he will pay me for the vacation time that has been earned and accrued. Is this legal?

A.Yes. A California employer has the right to manage its vacation pay responsibilities, and one of the ways it can do this is by paying its employees all earned and unused accrued vacation time at the end of each year.
