Q.Can a landlord be held responsible if a tenant's dog bites a person?

A.Generally no, but if the landlord's negligence was in part responsible for the person getting bit (e.g. landlord was watching the dog, landlord failed to repair a gate or fence after written notice, landlord received warnings from various tenants regarding the dangerous disposition of the dog, etc.), then the landlord may be held responsible, at least in part.
