Q.How can I revoke (cancel) a durable power of attorney?

A.You can simply sign and have notarized a document revoking the existing power of attorney.

Upon doing so, you should give written notice of the revocation to the agent and to all persons and institutions the agent was dealing with on your behalf, such as your bank.

If the power of attorney has been recorded, the signed and notarized revocation of the power of attorney should also be recorded.
